BG (Ret.) Becky Halstead Named As 2021 National Women's Hall of Fame Inductee

Congratulations Thayer faculty, Brigadier General (Retired) Becky Halstead, an incredible leader, trailblazer, and true leader of character and competence, who will be inducted into the National Women’s Hall of Fame! During her 27-year career in the U.S. Army, BG Halstead achieved many historic milestones, becoming the first female in U.S. history to command in combat at the strategic level when she was promoted to senior Commanding General for logistics in Iraq and the first female graduate of West Point to attain General Officer ranking when she was promoted to Brigadier General. Her commitment to excellence, knack for storytelling, and passion every day in the pursuit of developing leaders is admirable and we are so grateful to have BG Halstead on our team.

BG Halstead will be inducted alongside many extraordinary women, including Octavia Butler, Joy Harjo, Indra Nooyi, Emily Howland, Katherine Johnson, Michelle Obama, Mia Hamm, and Judy Chicago.
